General Ticket Information

How much are tickets?

Tickets are priced between £39.99 - £55 - purchase tickets via the Summer Ball ticket page

Can I bring a friend who is not a student?

Yes, if they are over 18! You can purchase up to two guest tickets per student. They are your responsibility during their time at the ball.

How many tickets can I buy?

Each student can buy a maximum of 3 tickets – 1 x Student and 2 x Guests.

Where can I buy tickets?

Tickets can only be purchased on the SU website

What does my ticket get me?

Your ticket gives you access to the ball and all the attractions. Drinks and food are not included in the price of your ticket.

Will there be food and drink available?

Yes, there will be various food and drink options on the night. Please note this is not included in your ticket.

I can no longer attend the ball, can I get a refund?

Tickets are non-refundable. Under exceptional circumstances (e.g. hospitilsation) a refund will be permitted. Please contact our admin team via email to discuss this - studentsunion@chi.ac.uk.

What happens if it rains?

The Summer Ball will take place come rain or shine. In the case of severe weather, updates and contingency plans will be communicated on our website and social media channels.

Transport

Are there busses to take me to and from the event?

Yes, there will be additional buses to take you to and from the ball, covering halls of residence and Bognor campus. This is included in the ticket price.

Entry Requirements 

What is the Dress Code?

Dress to impress, but most importantly it is encouraged that you dress in something that you feel comfortable in. In previous years students chose to generally dress in Suits/Dresses/Skirts etc. Please wear footwear that is suitable for both indoor and outdoor environments (Heels etc can be unsuitable for the outdoor areas so wear at your own risk)

Is there security?

Yes there will be a security check upon entry we will have a security team operation within the site.

What forms of ID will I require?

Photo ID will be required from all, either UOC student card, passport or driving licence ONLY. No ID – No entry. This event is for over 18s ONLY

Are bags permitted?

Only small bags will be permitted, there will be limited space in the cloakroom and priority will be for coats. The following are considered dangerous and are not permitted. Our security team reserve the right to confiscate prohibited items, including: Drones / Glass in any form (including perfume bottles) / Cans or metal containers / Spray cans, gas canisters or compressed gas in any container / Containers of glitter / Fireworks, flares, smoke canisters, Chinese lanterns / Camping stoves or cooking apparatus, explosives / Handheld communication devices such as radios, radio jammers/scanners / Firearms, knives or blades, replica weapons of any sort / Umbrellas / Balloons / Stools/camping sticks/chairs or other furniture / Gazebos or parasols / Sports equipment / Flags and banners / Megaphones, amplification equipment / Klaxons, airhorns or other similar items capable of making loud noise / Laser pen / Scooters, skateboards, bicycles, trolleys / Any other item which security may deem hazardous.

What do I do if I feel unwell or require first aid?

We will have a welfare & first aid station on site, if you feel unwell at any point, make yourself known to any staff or security and they will take you to the welfare & first aid point.
