Get to know your SU President
Tell us a little about yourself, what are your interests and what is your background?
Hiya love! I’m Izzy Page your Student’s Union President for a second year! I’m a northern gal who decided to travel the furthest south for university and it’s definitely worth the 5 hour drive. I’m very bubbly, friendly and will chat your ear off…so you’re welcome! I’m a musical theatre kid so you are likely to see me stealing the stage at karaoke. I’m very passionate about making everyone feel welcome and loved, I definitely have my mum to thank for that because our quote is “love is love”. I’m always here for a chat so don't be afraid to say hi when you see me around campus!

I graduated Musical Theatre (Cabaret) in 2023
Tell us about your roles and responsibilities?

Main spokesperson for the student body to the University Senior Management and wider community

Involved in key decision-making processes within both the University & the SU

Chair of the SU Board of Trustees

Key role in organising and running SU campaigns and events
What are your manifesto points this year?
- Support during cost of living crisis (I've implemented a "free stuff corner" in the SU Shop that provides household items for free & continued to provide free period products)
- Further pushing sustainability (I have implemented community fridges on both campuses in the LRCs to prevent food waste by giving free food)
- Host more varied events
- Improve equality, diversity and inclusivity & awareness
- Improve overall quality of life for students
How have you been involved with the SU during your time at Chi Uni?
Whilst I was a student, I worked in both the SU bar and shop since my first year so I’m very familiar with how that runs and the values we stand for.
What are you are looking forward to achieving with your role?
I look forward to another year of fun, representing students and making everyone feel welcomed!
