Officers are elected by you in the annual SU elections. Once elected, they represent you, answer to you, campaign for you. You have:

  • 2 full-time officers
  • 11 part-time officers

Full-time officers

Your full-time officers are the: President & Vice-President

They represent you for a year after they graduate, or they can take a year out of their studies instead. For this reason, they are sometimes called sabbatical officers (or simply sabbs).

They guide the students’ union, work closely with senior leaders at the University, and lobby and campaign to improve your time at Chichester.

Part-time officers

Your part-time officers are the:

  • Academic Officer - Bishop Otter Campus
  • Academic Officer - Bognor Regis Campus (to be elected)
  • Postgraduate Officer (to be elected)
  • Activities Officer (to be elected)
  • Chair of Student Council
  • Disabilities Officer
  • Ethnic Minorities Officer
  • International Students’ Officer
  • LGBTQ+ Officer
  • Open Portfolio Officer
  • Sustainability Officer

They are sometimes called student officers or non-sabbatical officers (or simply non-sabbs). They represent you alongside their studies. Each specialises in a different area of student life, often with a responsibility for championing under-represented groups, as can be viewed in the full officer structure.
