SU General Election 2025

In simple terms - this is your chance to choose which students run and lead the Students' Union next year. Elected students set the direction of the Students' Union, decide on student policy, run campaigns and projects to improve students' lives. There are lots of positions including full-time paid positions (£23.5K +) and part-time voluntary positions.

Nominations open at 10:00 on Monday 24 February 2025 (in 2 days and 1 hours)

The polls open at 10:00 on Monday 24 March 2025 (in 4 weeks and 2 days)

 

The elected officers: Set the direction of your students’ union; Decide on student policy and Campaign to improve your student life. It is important that we get the best candidates for these roles. 

You may know someone or believe that you are the right person for the job and wish to stand as a candidate yourself

Any student can stand as a candidate including:

  • Undergraduates
  • Postgraduates
  • International students
  • Part-time students
  • Mature students.

Part-time roles typically require you to belong to the group you are representing. For instance, the LGBTQ+ Officer must define as an LGBTQ+ student.

Stand as a full-time officer

As President or Vice-President, you will have the opportunity to improve the lives of your fellow students, all while earning a salary. You’ll also gain a mindset and skillset in high demand by graduate employers. After all, you’ll be leading a million-pound business, with 80 staff members and 5,000 members.

Stand as a part-time officer

As one of our part-time officers, you typically, you will give a voice to a under-represented group to which you belong. This is a voluntary role, completed alongside your studies. You’ll make a difference, while growing your knowledge and network.
